Discussion Summary:
Thank you to all the parents who joined our recent meeting and shared feedback. We covered several important topics about how we can keep improving the ATOMIC experience for our players and families.
Parents asked why some teams are playing in older age groups and requested clarification on how those decisions are made. Many parents would like more say in team direction, possibly through a poll or parent meeting. There was also a reminder about practice attire, with a suggestion that players wear at least one official ATOMIC jersey to show team spirit.
Concerns were raised about coaches managing multiple teams, which sometimes causes scheduling conflicts. Parents asked if the club has a standard for when parent-led sessions or substitute coaches are used. Coaching qualifications and consistency were also discussed, with parents asking for more information on certifications and expectations.
Attendance came up for both players and coaches. Some parents would like a clear attendance policy that affects playtime, while others appreciate ATOMIC’s flexible approach. Several parents also mentioned challenges with communication and suggested having a contact list or clear process for getting answers when questions go unanswered.
Other topics included clarifying which events are officially “sponsored” by ATOMIC and turning fun events—like Big Bro/Big Sis—into more structured soccer activities. A few families mentioned concerns about player development and were encouraged to speak directly with coaches about individual goals and to check the website for free training opportunities.
Lastly, parents said long emails are hard to read. Suggestions included shorter updates, bi-monthly parent meetings, and posting FAQs online.
